Early Life and Education
Lisa Frazier began performing at age 12 in political and religious venues in the Washington, D.C. area. She attended the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts, majoring in vocal performance and performing with the Everyman Street Theatre Company at venues like Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center. She continued her studies on a full scholarship at Oberlin Conservatory, focusing on vocal performance.
Musical Theatre
After graduation, Frazier returned to her theater roots, playing Luisa in The Fantasticks at Howard University’s Ira Aldridge Theatre. She later performed as the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at City Line Theatre in Philadelphia, earning critical acclaim.
Time with Lace
Frazier co-founded the girl group Lace in Los Angeles under Wing/Polygram Records. Lace achieved a Top 10 Billboard hit and charted several songs, making television appearances on BET’s Video Soul, Video Vibrations, Soul Train, Live at the Apollo, and CNN’s Showbiz Tonight.
Solo Career
Heart of Gold (1999–2000)
Signed to UDP/Universal, Frazier released the album Heart of Gold. The single “Somewhere Tonight,” remixed by Tony Moran, reached #3 on DMA charts. The album garnered European and Japanese tours, including performances on TV and a noted appearance before Luciano Pavarotti in Italy.

Session Work & Collaborations
Frazier’s voice has been featured in film soundtracks such as Losing Isaiah and Perfect Holiday. She has also recorded national commercials (Coca-Cola, Mitsubishi, Gatorade) and appeared on TV series like Orleans. She sang on Survivor’s album single “Empires” with Jimi Jamieson.

Personal Life and Other Activities
A committed spiritual leader since around 2000, Frazier is deeply involved in her church’s children’s ministries and deliverance work. She holds a master’s degree in special education and teaches students with special needs in Melissa ISD. She also leads support and prayer sessions through Rivers of Hope Ministries.
