Lisa Frazier is a dynamic singer-songwriter, vocal coach, and performer whose soaring voice and magnetic stage presence have captivated audiences around the world. With roots in gospel, R&B, soul, and dance music, her artistic journey spans decades and genres — from television and theater to the international music stage.


Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Frazier began performing at just 12 years old, singing at political and religious events. She refined her craft at the renowned Duke Ellington School of the Arts before earning a full scholarship to Oberlin Conservatory, where she studied vocal performance. After college, she returned to the stage in acclaimed productions of The Fantasticks and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Lisa's Big Break

Lisa's big break came as a founding member of the girl group Lace, signed to Wing/Polygram Records. Lace scored a Top 10 Billboard hit and made high-profile appearances on BET Video Soul, Soul Train, Live at the Apollo, and CNN’s Showbiz Tonight, making their mark in the 1990s R&B scene.

Venturing into a solo career, Lisa released her debut album Heart of Gold on UDP/Universal. The single “Somewhere Tonight,” remixed by Tony Moran, climbed to #3 on DMA dance charts and earned her widespread recognition. With international tours in Europe and Japan, she performed on television and even sang for opera legend Luciano Pavarotti.

Frazier’s musical versatility has led her to work with legends such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, George Duke, Eddie Murphy, Bobby Womack, Boz Scaggs, Johnny Gill and Jennifer Lopez to name a few. She’s also been a featured voice in commercials for Coca-Cola, Gatorade, and Mitsubishi, and contributed to soundtracks like Losing Isaiah and Perfect Holiday.
